Knowledge Kit Exhibition

Knowledge Kit Exhibition / Market Exchange was organised at National Institute of Rural Development ( NIRD, Ministry of Rural Development,Government of India ), Hyderabad in collaboration with Rural Technology Park of NIRD on 29 ^th August 2008.

Dr.D.ThammiRaju, Assistant Professor, College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad welcomed the gathering. Dr.P.V.
Hamza, Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad inaugurated the exhibition. Dr. M. V. Reddy, CEO, Andhra Pradesh Livestock Development Board felicitated the occasion. Dr. Geetha Kutty, Professor and Head, Centre for Gender Studies, NIRD delivered the presidential address. Dr. S. Ramkumar, Project Coordinator, DelPHE Project explained about the project and the objectives of the Knowledge Kit Exhibition. Dr. Senthil Vinayagam, Director,Rural Technology Park, NIRD delivered the vote of thanks.

Research partners had developed knowledge kits ( ICT and non ICT) which were displayed in their stalls. Many innovative ideas like information kiosk, COMBACCS ( cell phone operated mobile audio and communication system ) ASLICS ( Automated Self Learning & Interactive Communication System ), LCD display, Collapsible Banner and Quiz boards were displayed for the opinions of the visitors. Around 90 members including the WSHGs members, research partners, research assistants and invited guests participated in the exhibition.

The plenary session was chaired by Dr. Krishna Sreenath, Director, National Research Centre for women in Agriculture, Bhuvaneshwar and Co - Chaired by Dr. S. V. N. Rao, Professor and Head, RAGACOVAS. In the discussions with the WSHG members feedback was obtained on the advantages and disadvantages of the various knowledge kit items displayed in the exhibition. Dr. Geetha Kutty, NIRD gave the concluding remarks.
